It has been a while since this was last posted, so I thought it would be nice to bring it back to the top.

Dear Brother,

For the last 75 years, the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom has addressed his or her subjects through the Royal Christmas Message. It was first given by King George V on Christmas Day 1932, through what was then called the Empire Service, and is now known as the BBC World Service. At first only broadcast by radio, and then starting in 1957, by television, the Royal Christmas Message has been a tradition throughout the British Empire, and now the Commonwealth of Nations.

In 1998, Her Majesty’s Christmas Message first appeared on the Internet; in 2006 it was made available to be downloaded onto an iPod, and in 2007, it appeared on YouTube, which is a website where millions of video clips are available from all over the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Many different ways of communicating the same message………………that is the point of these remarks to you, my Brother. The teachings and principles of Freemasonry have been communicated in many different ways and methods down through the centuries. Some of the methods of communication are tried and true, and some are the most modern and up-to-date. More important than how communicate is WHAT we communicate. The message of Freemasonry needs to come through in all we say and do, each and every day of our lives.

You will see included in this trestleboard the ways your Gavel Club has communicated the message of Freemasonry during 2007. Please take note of the work they are doing………..good work, true work, square work. There are more designs on the trestleboard for Mozart Lodge #121 to communicate the message of Freemasonry in new and different ways, and to help all of us to convince the world of its good effects. Join with your brethren in communicating the message of Freemasonry in your lodge.

Happy New Year, and See you in Lodge

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Dear Brother,
As one year ends and another approaches, we are inspired to reach for higher goals in the year to come. Resolutions are easily made, but difficult to put into practice. That which we plan with great thought and care is often forgotten among the duties of our every day life.
Among the duties of every day life to the Master Mason is his duty to remember those in need, and to provide them with a portion of the blessings we have received from the Supreme Architect of the Universe. However, there are those who may be well provided for in the things of this world, but who are poor in spirit. They do not need help from our material blessing, but help from within our souls. To them we should be sharing a portion of our time, rather than a part of our wealth.
Our lives are so consumed with our daily vocations, the care of our families and loved ones, and what ever other activities we may be involved in that we find little, if any time, to honor our Masonic obligations to assist a Brother who may need a few moments of our time.
In 2008, let us resolve to honor the Masonic obligations that we assumed when we were raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason, and to give of our time to help, aid and assist others.
For Master Masons, there can be no greater honor that to fulfill our obligations to the gentle craft that we are privileged to be members of, and to give of ourselves to Brethren in need.
May you and your family have a Blessed Holiday Season, and Best Wishes for the year 2008.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Jack Daugherty, Worshipful Master
